We are currently looking for a team oriented and highly organized Purchaser. This is a permanent full time position and will be based in our office located in west end of Edmonton. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful incumbent will:

  • Initiate, develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors;
  • Effectively support the business through sourcing, vendor qualifying, and purchasing while ensuring adherence to the corporate policies and processes;
  • Create and manage open purchase orders and revisions for parts, inventory, materials and services;
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on time delivery, expediting, and performing periodic quality and compliance audits;
  • Address non-conforming material, return for credit, and core credits via RMA or RGM;
  • Coordinate parts pick-up and deliveries to meet the changing needs of the business;
  • Participate in companywide strategic initiatives, processes and directives with respect to Procurement;
  • Collaborate with functional business teams and establish key requirements to help identify cost reductions and better buying practices;
  • Identify research and resolve invoicing issues between internal finance teams and vendors;
  • Identify and help reduce redundant P2P task, effort and rework; and
  • Complete additional duties and projects as required for success.


  • University degree or diploma in Supply Chain, or related discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry. industrial or mechanical parts
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial, manufacturing or construction industry
  • Advanced abilities in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and related software system;
  • Ability to take initiative, think logically and complete detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to be flexible to changing priorities;
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, multi-task, and identify “sense of urgency” scenarios;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision;
  • Strong inclination towards process improvement and innovation; and
  • Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license or above, with access to a reliable vehicle.
