Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting, repair, and installation of computers and other electronic devices and systems
  • Maintaining audio-video equipment, vehicles, and trailers, and performing upgrades and modifications as necessary
  • Assisting engineers and performing duties as acting engineer as necessary for live broadcasts
  • Providing and assisting with technical research and testing for existing equipment and new equipment purchases
  • Transporting production equipment trailers and generators
  • Operating machinery including scissor lifts and diesel generators
  • Operating Tricaster and other production systems
  • Coordinating and providing internal and external rentals, including documentation and planning logistics
  • Maintaining parts inventory as well as shop organization and cleanliness; and
  • Assisting with risk management strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 year of experience with audio-visual or broadcast studio equipment
  • Some experience with live event/sport broadcasting will be highly desirable
  • Electronics Engineering Technology diploma/certificate or equivalent will be required
  • Must have flexibility with their schedule to accommodate night, weekend, and holiday work as needed as well as some travel
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to work on both MAC and PC operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of video editing (NLE) is an asset
  • Networking and IT experience is an asset
  • Experience with scissor lifts and other elevated work platforms is an asset
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Must have ability to lift at least 50lbs; and
  • Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license or above, with access to a reliable vehicle
