O’Hanlon Paving is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and safety conscious Fuel and Lube Driver to work seasonally in a full-time capacity, in and around the City of Edmonton.  In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient & safe regular lubrication with occasional fueling of Equipment required for various road building processes. You will ensure a high level of satisfaction by providing reliable and scheduled service to  all equipment according to the job/project demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily Field Level Hazards Assessments for all activities
  • Safely lubricate and fuel and light duty and heavy duty equipment as required and directed
  • Complete equipment inspections, report repairs required and assist in scheduling these repairs
  • Operate the lubrication/fuel truck safely and efficiently
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of service kits, lubes, oils and other supplies
  • Coordinate equipment service activities efficiently and effectively
  • Support Journeyman Mechanics with unplanned breakdowns and repairs of all equipment
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
  • Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fuel and Lube Technician
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience servicing equipment
  • Previous experience in construction or oil and gas industry will be preferred
  • Minimum High School education or equivalent
  • Some knowledge of the municipal road building industry
  • Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license with Air Brakes, and a clean drivers abstract
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Valid safety certifications and First Aid will be required

Additional Information:

  • The position is eligible for paid overtime
  • Our Work Season typically runs between April to November annually
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle to commute to the Acheson site
  • Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required
  • Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season
  • Training will be provided for various activities
